I voted ten times per phone line, and I have a lot of phone lines. I didn't like when Piers told the contestant the second night that she outdid Neal. She is a lovely woman, a good singer, but I see singers of her genre and talent all the time. Neal is more unique. Please everybody, VOTE, VOTE VOTE.
A reader emailed this comment to the Southeast Missourian:
I voted 4 times for Neil Boyd. I think he has a good chance of winning. He does a great job of keeping his songs INNOCENT which America needs right now. He's unique, and I think when he wins, he will be able to deliver an hour or hour and a half to his own show in Vegas and keep the attention of the audience. That's important.
I hope he continues to find songs that we already know, but, give it that opera flavor and I think this is key to him winning. Yesterday's song was AWESOME. Keep it up Neil. One of your fans. C. Sitko in Kent, Ohio
Any friends of Neals on here? PASS IT ALONG! Please...sing things that the voting audience can really get in to, rock out with, get swept along by...and you will WIN!
MEATLOAF, maybe from Bat out of Hell...A little Paradise by the Dashboard Light, or I Would Do Anything for Love...
And again, Phantom of the Opera... MUSIC OF THE NIGHT
A Meatloaf song would be GREAT!
I sure hope Neal is reading all of these lovely comments. Please, if anyone is talking to Neal, just one request? The night of his first audtion, he was choked up with emotion, rightfully so. When he got that way, he ended his song on a short note. Please, Neal, pull out your ending notes to a longer sound. I don't know the correct term for that, but I noticed that Idol contestants make the same mistake. Don't cut it off abrubtly, just take it long and finish big! Oh, and do a Meatloaf song....and something from Phantom of the Opera...Music of the Night. I'm sure Neal would do an AMAZING job on that...someone pass it on...tell him to do it in the vein of Micheal Crawford...
Thank you, Matt.
We certainly hope so.
All the best,
Italia
Thanks for your comments, Italia. Maybe someone will take your advice to Neal.
Hello, everyone.
I am writing to you from Italy.
My colleagues and I heard Neal Boyd today for the very first time, completely by accident.
We are moved by the person, the talent and the heart of Neal Boyd.
So moved, in fact, that I felt compelled to join this forum and post a comment in the hopes that you, his friends, might persuade Neal himself to read what we have to say and take it seriously.
Please forgive what may appear to you as "criticism", as I realise that this is unsollicited advice, which is usually unwelcome. This is the very first time I have ever done this,as I say, because i have been so moved by this sweet, talented person.
We are voice experts, having spent the better part of 25 years researching the voice and working with singers as well as all voice professionals.
We specialize in reorganizing the voices of professional singers.
We know talent when we see it, and we recognize a real singer when we see one, and Neal is all of this, but we also recognize potential vocal problems.
Neal must nurture the tools for this profession if he wishes to become a professional singer. He has the voice and the musicality but he is being misguided vocally and the wobble that is clearly audible in everything he sings is the most obvious sign of this (we have been to his website) and it is going to continue to get worse. The voice is not sitting properly and lacks depth.
We love singers and we respect and understand them.
Neal is a true singer, heart and soul.
I would love to be able to speak with Neal and to help him.
With best wishes,
Italia
To mussmuggins: They showed Neal just briefly in the intro to the show, but not again.
To olfriend: I wish I could tell you when Neal would be on. We had some information that indicated possibly last week, but as you know, that wasn't the case. We're keeping our fingers crossed for this week.
I grew up with Neal, and I must say he is truly an amazing person! From his personality to talent, a man among men!
But I would like to thank the SE Missourian for their interest in my friend and someone I consider a brother. Its a shame that his own home town paper doesnt show the same interest!! Thank you SE Missourian!
Neal E. Boyd, his voice, his life, are one...
Neal is the sweetest guy around, were all pulling for him to win. Any possibility you can get us an air time and date???
I turned to the show at 8:06pm tuesday night and watched the whole show expecting to see him. The previous time he was last. Did I miss him last night?
From what we've heard the live shows don't start until after the Olympics. That said, my inquiries to NBC went unanswered, though I probably didn't contact the right person.
I understand tonight's show is taped. Any idea of when the show goes live? Good luck Neal. I'll be watching.
