Hope you weren't one of the many who flocked to purchase the amazing iPhone when it came out, because you might be mad right now.

Friday morning Apple is going to drop the new iPhone 3G — vastly improved over the original, with more features and a lower price tag.

Here's the marketing decription from Apple's Web site:

"Introducing iPhone 3G. With fast 3G wireless technology, GPS mapping, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more features at your fingertips. And like the original iPhone, it combines three products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device with rich HTML email and a desktop-class web browser. iPhone 3G. It redefines what a mobile phone can do — again."

Apple's marketing slogan — "Twice as fast. Half the Price."

Talk about a slap in the face. Ouch.

But that's the tech world — early adopters often get the short end on price and functionality.

However, it seems some of the upgrades will translate over to the old iPhones, but not all, like GPS.

Check out this PC World review for more information on the new device.

This article says the company may make $1 billion from the sale of the new device, and stores are expecting a huge crunch of people lining up to buy, like they did for the original.

Will you be one of them?

Sure, the $199 starting price tag in the U.S. ain't cheap. But at least it's not as bad as in Belgium, where they'll be going for $1,000.
