Bullet hole found in window at Common Pleas CourthouseWednesday, July 9, 2008
A bullet hole was found Tuesday in the Division I courtroom through the southeast window on the upper floor of the Common Pleas Courthouse. Patrolman Brian Blanner of the Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to a call from the courthouse at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday when the hole was found. According to the report given to the police department, the hole was made sometime between 3:45 p.m. Monday and 2:10 p.m. Tuesday. The reporting party believed it happened at night. Patti Wibbenmeyer, a civil and domestic in the Division I circuit clerk[']s office, said she doesn[']t think the courthouse has received any hate mail recently. No one was hurt in the incident, Cpl. Jason Selzer at the police department said. He said they had found the slug but didn[']t have information about the type of gun it came from.

The only people that should be on welfare are the ones that aren't able to work.Everyone else needs to be supporting themselves and their family.Thank you very much for allowing me to say this.I get tired of having to work my rear off to support all these low lifes.
There is a bullet hole in one of the common pleas annex window frames also. I just thought bullet holes in courthouses and taverns were mandatory.
By 'they' I meant whoever did this. I don't presume, like others, to be a profiler.
See what happens when they run out of fireworks?
too many *******'s for me.....
Yeah, maybe so, but what if the ******* was just another **********?
It also could have been an unsupervised, perhaps bored kid. Just a thought.
One more observation. The Southeast Missourian apparently is holding posters to a higher standard of good taste than its own reporters. I am sure the words ******** and sodomy are found in their news stories. Strange then, that they would censor them from this forum.
There is a house in St. Joseph which has a sign on the outside saying "See the bullet hole." The bullet hole is from the shot that killed Jesse James. Perhaps the people at the courthouse can use this bullet hole as a tourist attraction too.
My vote goes to the welfare recipient as the culprit.
Since we're so inclined to stereotype, why not say it's a farmer who's paid not to grow anything in his field or a CEO who's company is receiving part of the billions the government gives in corporate welfare? Generalized stereotyping has no imagination nowadays!
Let's focus on the real issues - why hasn't forensics figured out the type of bullet and is security so lax that there are no outside security cameras? Why did it take so long to notice? If court was in session, would anyone have been in danger and if so, shouldn't this justify buing the old federal building (something most county commissioner candidates are against)?
Welfare was designed for temporary assistance only and not to stay on it for a life time like a lot of people do today. I see so many young people on welfare that are physically able to work but refuse to do so but choose to run down to the welfare office. We have a lot of young ladies having babies just to have them so they can get on welfare and draw a check. The welfare system is being abused so badly in this day and time and costing taxpayers billions each year. I have no problem in helping people that actually need help, but these people are not able to get any assistance.
They are probably one of those people from Good Hope Street!!
Welfare is for people who need it. However, too many people are abusing it. Everyone has the same opportunities. Go to high school, go to college, and get a good job and don't get pregnant till you are in stable financial standings. If someone is disabled then it is okay. Although, they should work somehow. There are jobs out there for everyone. The reason our social security system is failing is because people aren't working like they should. Laziness in this world, people always want handouts and when they get em they go out and buy drugs or gamble it away.
I think the both of you are idiots . That is being NICE compared to what I want to name you . That bullet hole could have came from any where , but according to you it was done by a low life , scum of the earth person on welfare . Hmm, So that tells me that you stereotype people on welfare as being Nothing . Even the worst people on earth . It couldnt have been a pedophile , crack fiend , murderer or any other kind of person . It had to have been a person on welfare who sleeps all day . For the record .. I know lots of people who in fact are on welfare ...and they dont sleep all day . In fact they are pretty decent people . In fact , I used to be on it myself . Im not any more , because I do not need it . Its available for people who NEED it for various reasons ,that of which would be none of our businesses. But as I said in my opening statement , I think the both of you are idiots to stereo type people like that .You dont know where that hole could have came from or that it was even done on purpose ..But oh I forgot , It was done by a low life person on welfare . So it doesn't matter how it got there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey lindagayle the way you decribe that person it seems you are implying something. Well i agree with u!
How sad that people don't have anything else to do,but go around vandalizing things. It's probably some low life person on welfare that sleeps all day,and wanders all night.Scum of the earth, you might say, huh?
