Members of the Commrades student group at Southeast Missouri State University are pictured from left to right, Glen Williams, faculty advisor for Commrades; students Alyson Krenning and Vicki Breen. (submitted ) They are packing up a donation box for Safe House for Women.

Commrades, a student organization of Southeast Missouri State University department of communication, asks for donors to place their unopened personal care products from hotel stays in a collection bin at the Circulation Desk of Kent Library for donations to the Safe House for Women. Full-size toiletry donations plus donations of diapers and toys are also collected since many women who stay at the shelter are mothers.

The bin is overseen by librarian Margaret Friese. When the bin is full the contents are delivered to the Safe House headquarters. They deliver several boxes every semester.

In addition to helping the Safe House for Women, the small student group with under a dozen members, raises money for Semo Network Against Sexual Violence and works towards raising awareness about sexual violence in our society, the groups that combat it and that help its victims.
