Video of Boyd's win, there and here

The news is everywhere today — a product of Southeast Missouri has won a big national competition show. I speak of none other than the now-famous Neal E. Boyd and his "America's Got Talent" win Wednesday night.

I was in Sikeston last night at Randy and Charlotte York's house with Boyd's family and friends as they anxiously watched the season finale. When Boyd was announced as the winner, the place went nuts, and you can see it on video. I've pasted the clip here, below the clip from NBC of Boyd accepting his win on stage in Los Angeles.

From my dealings with Boyd, I can tell you he's a very gracious man, and our hosts at the party last night were, as well. In my opinion, this win couldn't have happened to a better person.

I briefly spoke to Boyd earlier today, and he's swamped with national media attention and record label meetings. Living the life of a big star now. Kind of funny how Missourians have taken home the prize in the two biggest talent shows this year (remember David Cook's win on "American Idol").

I'm trying to secure an interview with Boyd, so look for that soon here on seMissourian.com and on our "America's Voice" page dedicated to Boyd and his "America's Got Talent" win.
