We're on Boyd watch
Posted

Another week, another episode of "America's Got Talent," which is the number one rated show in America.
The reason is because of the talent (and un-talent), which includes one Southeast Missouri native, Neal E. Boyd, and another man with Southeast Missouri ties, Matthew Piazzi, son of Southeast Missouri State University voice instructor Judith Farris.
Word on the street is that Boyd's on again tonight as the show (still pre-taped) shifts over to Las Vegas with a narrowed field.
And when it comes to Boyd, we've got you covered. We have an entire site dedicated to the tenor who made America take notice on the first episode of "America's Got Talent" this year.
On the site you'll find old stories, new stories, video of Boyd's performance, video of Piazzi and an interview with show judge Piers Morgan.
Tonight I'll be leading a live chat during the show, which starts at 8 p.m. Check it out. Hope to see you there.

"America's Got Talent": Neal Boyd rocked everyone
Posted

10 p.m.
The producers of NBC's "America's Got Talent" thought enough of Sikeston's Neal E. Boyd to give him a long introductory segment telling his story of growing up poor in Southeast Missouri before making his performance the climax of this season's first show.

Maybe Belgians could make Bud better
Posted

I may make some of you angry here, but it's time to face the facts: Budweiser isn't a very good beer.
Sure, you can call me a beer snob, but truth is truth, and I'm laying it out for you.
I used to like Budweiser, back when I didn't know about other, better-tasting beers. Since then, my tastes have changed.

What kind of videos would you like to see on our site? Or do you even watch them?
Posted

Let's face it — at the Southeast Missourian, we're newspaper people. This whole video thing is new to us, though we know it's the wave of the future.
So we're still trying to figure out exactly what kind of videos our online audience wants to see.
