I applaud the selection of former Missouri legislator Wayne Goode to review the Missouri budget as announced last week by governor-elect Jay Nixon. I served with Goode years ago on the House Conference Appropriations Committee, which he chaired.
Friday morning I attended a breakfast honoring new Jackson Chamber of Commerce executive director Brian Gerau, who assumed the post Nov. 1. Gerau, who is the husband of Southeast Missourian advertising executive Sara Gerau, seems to be a great fit for the job.
