ObituariesWilliam "Bill" McKinnis, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 7, 2008, at his home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. ADVANCE, Mo. — Dennis Warren, 49, of Houston, Texas, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in Houston.
He was born Aug. 28, 1959, in Advance, son of Harold and Tressa Mae Wells Warren. Survivors include his father of New Madrid, Mo.; three brothers, Elvis Warren of Houston, Rodney Warren of Morley, Mo., Donnie Warren of Sikeston, Mo.; two sisters, Charlotte Mooneyhan of Sikeston and Karen Odle of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his mother. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at New Morley Cemetery in Morley. Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements. Anna Nees, 84, of Scott City died Monday, July 7, 2008, at her home.
She was born Feb. 12, 1924, in Judsonia, Ark., daughter of James A. and Pauline Hudson Rackley. She and Welton C. Nees were married Oct. 9, 1944, at Bonne Terre, Mo. He died March 23, 1993. Nees was an agent with Missouri-Pacific Railroad during World War II. She lived in Arcadia, Mo., 52 years, moving to Scott City in 1997. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ironton, Mo. Survivors include a daughter, Paula (Thomas) Brunke of Scott City; a brother, Jerry (Wanda) Rackley of Jonesboro, Ark.; a grandson, Jeff (Michelle) Brunke of Scott City; a great-granddaughter, Kylie Campbell; a stepgrandson, Michael (Sondra) Brunke of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a great-stepgrandson, Collin Brunke. She was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters, a grandson and a stepgrandson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Azinger officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Arcadia Valley Cemetery in Arcadia. DEXTER, Mo. — Martha Louise Allstun, 78, of Dexter died Monday, July 7, 2008, at Missouri Southern Healthcare Center.
She was born Sept. 12, 1929, in Parma, Mo., daughter of Clarence Wilson and Velossie Dale Lawson. She and Walter Ray Allstun were married Sept. 13, 1947, in Piggott, Ark. Allstun retired from the shoe department at P.N. Hirsch in Dexter. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Essex. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kathy Fortner of Dexter, Geraline Reaves of Seneca, Mo.; two sisters, Ruth Larson of Dexter, Joyce Cook of Jackson; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and two infant siblings. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Herman Morris officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. William "Don" Crader, 74, of Delta died Monday, July 7, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 26,1933, at Allenville, son of William L. and Lenora Drennan Crader. Crader was a retired heavy equipment operator with Local 513 in Cape Girardeau. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army. He was a member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau. Survivors include a son, David Crader of Big Spring, Texas; a daughter, Debra Davitt; a companion, Brenda Hargrave of Delta; three stepsons, Chris Cannon of Dexter, Mo., Troy Hargrave of Cape Girardeau, Gary Hargrave of Belton, Texas; three brothers, Jack Crader of Jackson, Joe and David Crader of Delta; four sisters, Joan Surface of Rockview, Linda Hale and Peggy Miles of Cape Girardeau, Kay Uhrhan of Scott City; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hitt Cemetery in Arbor. Arrangements are incomplete with Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel. PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Robert L. Blessing, 68, of Perryville died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1939, at Crystal City, Mo., son of Mary Ann Blessing. He and Patricia DuVall were married Aug. 5, 1961, in Perryville. Blessing was a factory worker and farmer. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Vickie Otte; two sons, Bobby and Darrell Blessing, all of Perryville; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Thursday at Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be Wednesday night, and the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Marjorie VanWinkle, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at her home.
She was born March 13, 1936, in Quincy, Ill., daughter of Charles and Violet Walters Lumley. She and Morris VanWinkle were married Feb. 5, 1955, in Hannibal, Mo. VanWinkle owned and operated a small country store and was postmistress for the U.S. Postal Service 10 years in Bynumville, Mo. She later moved to Southeast Missouri in 1975 and worked as a bank teller, then ended her working career as a grocery clerk at Food Giant, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Mount Auburn Christian Church, taught Sunday school many years and was a member of the Tuesday Morning Ladies Group. Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert VanWinkle of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Sandra Conklin of Cape Girardeau, Cindy Rouggly of Jackson; two sisters, Louise Ann Parrish of La Belle, Mo., Connie Helenthal of Keokuk, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Andy Conklin, Ken VanWinkle and Lucas Rouggly officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park. PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Lynn D. Seabaugh, 31, of Perryville died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 22, 1977, in Perryville, son of Troy and Mary A. Gilliard Seabaugh. Seabaugh was owner and operator of Seabaugh Outdoor Services. Survivors include a son, Braedon Seabaugh of Perryville; his mother of Perryville; four brothers, Charles, Joseph and Glen Seabaugh, all of Perryville, Benny Seabaugh of Daisy; three sisters, Joyce Brown, Janice Seabaugh and Kathy Seabaugh, all of Perryville; and fiancee, Tony Ing of Perryville. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 6:30 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jason Davis officiating. Burial will be in Sargent's Chapel Cemetery at Sedgewickville, Mo. CAIRO, Ill. — Frank Polston, 86, of Cairo died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Cairo. He married Eva "Katy" Morrison. She died in 1991. Polston was a mechanic and truck driver with the U.S. Air Force during World War II, serving in the China, Burma and India operations. He was a lifetime member of Cairo VFW Post 2649. Survivors include a son, Barry Polston of Cairo; a granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert McCoy officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery at Mound City, Ill., with military honors conducted by Pulaski County Memorial VFW Post 8891 of Mounds, Ill., VFW Post 2649, and Louis Phares American Legion Post 178 in Villa Ridge, Ill. |
