Alternative farmers market changing locations

The location for the Cape Alternative Farmers Market will move this week to the area behind the playground facing Rodney Street in Arena Park. The location this week was changed because of Vacation Bible School. The same items will be featured at the market this week, including peaches, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, green beans and honey. A cooking demonstration by chef Dewayne Schaaf of Celebrations by Request restaurant will be at 10:30 a.m. July 6. Schaaf will prepare dishes from items that can be purchased at the market. He is the silver medal winner for the 2004 AgriMissouri Chef Contest, the annual competition by the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
