FARRAR, Mo. -- Walter M. Miesner, 82, of Farrar died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville, Mo. He was born Nov. 22, 1922, at Farrar, son of Henry and Engel Verseman Miesner. Miesner was a retired farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 133, served on the MFA Board of Directors, and Braille Bible for the Blind in Crosstown, Mo...

FARRAR, Mo. -- Walter M. Miesner, 82, of Farrar died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville, Mo.

He was born Nov. 22, 1922, at Farrar, son of Henry and Engel Verseman Miesner.

Miesner was a retired farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 133, served on the MFA Board of Directors, and Braille Bible for the Blind in Crosstown, Mo.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a sister, Violet Kassell of Frohna, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and Saturday from 6:30 to 8 a.m. An American Legion wake will be held tonight at 7.

The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133.
