Two men were arrested on drug-related charges after being found having illegal substances in Capaha Park, Cape Girardeau police said. Douglas W. Guyton Jr., 25, of 1143 S. Pacific St., was charged with felony first-degree drug trafficking and Brent S. Johnson, 19, of 1836 Good Hope St., was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, an off-duty Jackson police officer saw a drug transaction in the upper circle of the park, according to a probable-cause statement. When officers arrived at the scene, Johnson exited a vehicle and dropped cigarettes and a marijuana cigar, the statement read. Guyton was found to have a large amount of cash and two bags of crack cocaine of more than 6 grams, according to the statement. Bond was set at $100,000 for Guyton, who has prior convictions for burglary, gun and drug charges.
