PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marcellis F. Heberlie, 80, of Perryville died Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center. He was born Oct. 30, 1926, at Zell, Mo., son of Hershel M. and Mary Harter Heberlie. Heberlie was a construction worker and a member of the NRA, AMVETS and the American Legion. He was of the Catholic faith. Heberlie served in the U.S. Coast Guard and Merchant Marines during World War II...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marcellis F. Heberlie, 80, of Perryville died Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 30, 1926, at Zell, Mo., son of Hershel M. and Mary Harter Heberlie.

Heberlie was a construction worker and a member of the NRA, AMVETS and the American Legion. He was of the Catholic faith. Heberlie served in the U.S. Coast Guard and Merchant Marines during World War II.

Survivors include five daughters, Jeannie Clark, Deborah Dippold and Christine Callier, all of Perryville, Barbara Schumer of Sarasota, Fla., and Diane Thrau of Chester, Ill.; four sons, Frederick and Gary Heberlie, both of Perryville, Robert Heberlie of Chester and Donald Heberlie of Freedsburg, Va.; four brothers, Wilfred Heberlie of French Village, Mo., Francis Heberlie of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Martin Heberlie of Perryville and Butch Heberlie; three sisters, Mary Heberlie of St. Louis, Edna Nanney and Monica Brewer of Crystal City, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate, with burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in St. Mary, Mo. American Legion Post 133 will perform military honors.
