Dunklin County forces decisive game

Dunklin County will take on Anheuser-Busch of St. Louis at 1 p.m. today in the deciding game of the American Legion Zone 4 baseball tournament at Jackson.

Dunklin County came back through the losers bracket and forced a winner-take-all game in the double-elimination tournament with two extra-inning victories Saturday.

Jeremy Patton followed his dramatic game-winning home run in the early game against Rock Memorial with a game-winning two-run shot in the 11th inning of a scoreless game to pin a first loss on Anheuser-Busch.

Dunklin County (28-18), the champion of District 14 in Southeast Missouri, has a three-game winning streak of last-inning decisions.

Post 303 eliminated Manchester 6-5 on Friday with a four-run rally in the bottom of the ninth.
