Lauren Johnson netted a game-high 29 points to lead Woodland to a 55-44 victory over Oran in a girls basketball showdown Monday.

Taylor Steckman added 14 points for the Cardinals (6-8).

Cheyenne King poured in 22 points for Oran.

Caleb Estes and Travis Scherer led the charge for Scott City with 10 points apiece. The Rams opened a 49-18 lead at halftime.

Chase Rhodes scored a game-high 20 points for the Bobcats.

Kelly defeated Chaffee 68-50 in the late game. No other details were reported to the Southeast Missourian.

This could not possibly be the same Oran team that played in the Scott-Mississippi conference tournament!!!! I know that controversy and attitudes have shaken the team but they had seemed to pull out of it, until this! I give you credit for playing well against Kelly and Scott City and for the discipline you displayed in those games but the one thing that you need to learn is that the team is just that a team and it is a team all the way thru the bench. Everyone should play as a team and everyone should PLAY! Come on ladies you have extreme talent, you just have to learn to overcome the obstacles that come your way and play.
