East Prairie holds off Kelly for third in Scott-Miss. tourney

East Prairie limited Kelly to three points in the second quarter, then held on for the 73-63 victory in the third-place boys basketball game at the Scott-Mississippi Conference tournament Friday in Delta.

Tony Jones scored 33 points to lead the Eagles.

The Hawks jumped out to an 11-point lead after the first quarter, but got outscored 19-3 in the decisive second quarter.

Josh DeBrock led Kelly with 21 points, while Josh Rodgers added 14.

Josh Rollet drilled a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the Indians to send the game to overtime after St. Vincent led for most of the game.

The Indians couldn't maintain the momentum as they dropped to 1-3 in the conference.

"It was a good effort for our guys," St. Vincent coach Bruce Valleroy said.

Rollet led St. Vincent (5-9 overall) with 15 points, while Matt Abbott added 12.
