Niemczyk hits milestone in Bell City's rout of Oran

Bell City senior Nick Niemczyk scored the 2,000th point of his high school career in the Cubs' 102-54 home victory over Oran on Friday night.

Niemczyk also scored a game-high 27 points and netted five 3-pointers.

Bell City (17-2) was especially strong beyond the arc, hitting 16 3-pointers.

Along with Niemczyk's five 3-pointers, Ethan Watkins had five, Melvin Johnson netted four and Ronnie Gross added two.

Niemczyk is also one of two local basketball players to be nominated for the McDonald's All-American High School Game. The other is Notre Dame's Ryan Willen.

St. Vincent's Justin L'Hote and Josh Rollet both recorded double-doubles in the Indians' 15-point win over Windsor.

L'Hote finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Rollet netted 17 points and collected 12 rebounds.

Aaron Dzik added 11 points for St. Vincent.
