Slow starts dooms Jackson

Parkway South jumped on Jackson early, and the Indians couldn't mount a rally as the Patriots earned the 56-29 girls basketball victory Saturday.

Ashten Howard led Jackson with 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.

The Indians dropped to 12-9 with the loss.

Daniel Cohen added 20 for the Eagles (13-7), who continue their season at the state tournament in Joplin beginning Wednesday.
