Southeast Missouri State University closes

Due to inclement weather, offices will be closed all day, and all classes are cancelled for today, Thursday, Feb. 21. Southeast's regional campuses in Kennett, Sikeston and Malden, along with the Perryville Higher Education Center, will be closed all day as well. Kent Library on the Cape Girardeau campus, however, will open at 11 a.m. today.

A presentation called "The Moral and Community Connection Between Islam and Christianity" set for tonight has been canceled. Another presentation, "Remembering the Road to Brown: Four Social Engineers in the Fight for Civil Rights," is postponed until a later date.

Leadership Cape Media Day has been canceled.

The Old Town Cape Annual Meeting at the River Campus tonight is canceled.

The American Red Cross Mount Auburn Collection Center is closed.

The Southeast Missouri Climate Protection Initiative meeting is postponed until March 20.

City of Cape Girardeau Delays Opening City Offices

Due to Icy Road Conditions Non- Emergency Personnel Report to Work at 10 a.m.

The City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department has canceled its Monthly Dance and Junior Chef cooking class tonight. The dance is rescheduled for March 20.

Trash collection will continue as usual in Jackson. The city has added an additional truck because the slick roads are delaying collection. The city's recycling center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
