CHAFFEE, Mo. — Elmer "Big E" Glastetter, 82, of Chaffee died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

He was born Sept. 26, 1926, at Chaffee, son of Fred William and Hulda Caroline Heisserer Glastetter. He and Ruby Pauline Liggett Mansell were married Oct. 14, 1998.

Glastetter was a retired carpenter and farmer and owned Big E Tavern in Chaffee. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and its Men's Club and VFW Post 3127 in Chaffee.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife and a sister, Marie Allen of Cape Girardeau.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The rosary will be recited at 6:30.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with a service by VFW Post 3127.
