Wednesday, July 1, 2009

The offense pounded out 17 hits in the 20-2 victory.

The Plaza Tire Capahas entered play Tuesday night having lost two straight games.

They took out their frustrations on the Charleston Riverdogs, exploding for a 20-2 road victory.

Wagner and John Amschler both had four RBIs, followed by Deason and Brad LaBruyere with three each.

Dustin Hunter was the winning pitcher, striking out 12 and walking none over seven innings. He allowed eight hits and two runs, with both runs and six hits coming in the first two innings.

Matt Carter struck out three in the eighth inning, while Josh Parham fanned two in the ninth as Plaza Tire pitchers combined for 17 strikeouts.

The Capahas return to action Friday at the Valmeyer (Ill.) tournament.
