The Southeast Missouri State women's soccer team took an early lead Friday night but settled for 1-1 tie at Ohio Valley Conference leader Morehead State.
Southeast is 7-5-3 overall and 2-1-3 in OVC play, good for sixth place in the nine-team league. The top six finishers qualify for the conference tournament. Morehead is 7-6-4 and 4-0-3.
The Redhawks got an unassisted goal from Vanessa Hart in the 16th minute of play. It was Hart's third goal of the season.
But the Redhawks had little offense besides that tally as they were outshot 15-5 and did not force Morehead goalkeeper Lily Meisner to make a save.
The Eagles, who also held a 6-1 edge in corner kicks, tied the contest about 11 minutes before the end of regulation on a goal by Bethany Davidson.
Southeast keeper Kristen Starkey recorded five saves.
