High school roundup: Panthers capture third at Miss Valley tourney

Meadow Heights bounced back from its loss to Oak Ridge to knock off Zalma in the third-place game at the Mississippi Valley Conference boys basketball tournament Friday in Chaffee.

Senior Dustin Hubler, the only returning starter for the Panthers, scored 27 points, while Nick Webb added 20 to pace Meadow Heights (12-6).

Junior Justin Stotts hit for 27 points for the Bulldogs (7-11).

The championship game between Oak Ridge and Leopold was canceled because of inclement weather.

Landon Robert hit for 15 points, including three 3-pointers, but it wasn't enough as the Rams fell at home.

Delta jumped out to a 12-point lead at halftime and never looked back.
