Roger Clemens was sore Wednesday, a day after a sore groin forced him out after five innings.

Clemens told a team spokesman there was no update on his condition other than that he was sore.

"We don't expect him to miss his next start," Astros manager Phil Garner said. "You have awkward moments. He was slipping on the mound a little bit. I don't know if you call it a mild strain, which is probably what you technically call it. We use the word 'tweak' to kind of cover everything but a pull, when you feel it a little bit.

"Sometimes in a day or two it's just fine, and you don't feel it anymore."

Clemens' next scheduled start is Monday at home against the Reds.

"It's more than a mild strain, but I know my body and I didn't tear it," Clemens said after the game.
