Carl Anthony Boitnott, 43, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center, as a result of an accident.

He was born Dec. 17, 1966, in Port Smith, Va., to Robert Eugene and Cecilia Puebla Gomez Boitnott Sr. He and Julie Ellen Bray were married July 27, 1985, in Cape Girardeau.

Carl was a painting contractor and was the owner of Cape County Painting. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He was also a Court Appointed Special Advocate.

Carl liked to play golf, go camping and play guitar. He enjoyed being with family.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Boitnott; father, Robert Eugene Boitnott Sr.; mother, Cecilia Mungle; a daughter, Jacque Elaine Bray; two sons, Carl Anthony "Tony" Boitnott II and Damien Alexander Gills, all of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Robert Eugene Boitnott Jr. of Cape Girardeau, William Joseph "Billy" Boitnott of Chaffee, Mo.; a half brother, Paul Murphy of North Carolina; and a grandchild, Elijah Trae Alexander Bray.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Paul "Johnny" Boitnott.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be given to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
