BIEHLE, Mo. -- Bill's Place, restaurant and bar in Biehle has repeatedly failed to complete drinking-water testing required by the state law, according to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
The department requires all places that provide water for public consumption from their own well to test for bacteria at least once a month.
Bill's Place failed to complete drinking water testing in November, May and June, according to DNR records.
A water sample collected in July did not indicate the presence of any harmful bacteria, according to the DNR.
Failing to monitor does not necessarily mean the water is unsafe. Bill's Place has been sent multiple violation notices in addition to certified letters informing them that chronic failure to monitor is unacceptable, according to DNR records. If it continues to fail to comply, the department may pursue other action.
