A Sunday morning fire that damaged Esicar's Old Hickory Smokehouse in Cape Girardeau has been ruled accidental, according to the Cape Girardeau Fire Department.

All Cape Girardeau crews were called to the scene around 4:30 a.m., after police responded to the scene for a burglar alarm. Light smoke was showing from the basement of the building upon arrival. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical.

Firefighters from Jackson and Scott City were called to assist Cape Girardeau crews in case of another fire call. Crews had the blaze under control in approximately 30 minutes. No one was injured.

Damage to the structure was estimated at around $300,000.
