Greyhound racing is cruel and inhumane. Racing greyhounds endure terrible confinement in small stacked cages. While racing, they suffer and die from injuries such as broken limbs, paralysis and cardiac arrest. Short-term investments, the greyhounds are valued only as long as they generate a profit. Their post-racing fate falls to dedicated volunteer groups such as Cape Girardeau Greyhound Pets of America and The Greyhound Project to place for adoption as many greyhounds as they can.
