PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Herbert O. Dippold, 81, of Perryville was called home Monday, April 25, 2011.
He was born June 12, 1929, in Perryville, son of Walter and Bertha Villhard Dippold. He first married Anna Kay Johnson on April 3, 1953. He then married Margaret Harris on March 9, 1986.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Norman (Cathy) Dippold of Perryville, David Dippold of Chicago; three daughters, Lynette (Eric) Hoog of Bloomsdale, Mo., Ronda Dippold of Sedgewickville, Mo., Brenda (Tom) Burford of Burfordville; three stepchildren, Joyce (Chuck) Cox of Herrin, Ill., Larry (Mary) Richardson of Perryville, Allison McDerby of St. Louis; two brothers, Walter J. Dippold of Howell, Mich., Leslie (Mary) Dippold of Perryville; and 13 grandchildren.
Dippold was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dippold was a farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. His legacy will live on in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 6:30 to 8:15 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. An American Legion wake will be held at 7 Thursday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military honors provided by American Legion Post 133.
Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Radio Broadcast.
