DONIPHAN, Mo. -- A Poplar Bluff, Mo., Early Head Start teacher who doubles as a bail bondsman was arraigned earlier this week in Ripley County after being charged with possessing prescription pain pills she allegedly accepted in exchange for bond money owed her, the Daily American Republic reported. Stephanie D. Wamhoff, 37, appeared Monday before Associate Circuit Judge Thomas Swindle on possession of a controlled substance. The complaint, filed by Ripley County Prosecuting Attorney Christopher Miller, was read to Wamhoff and she was ordered to appear at 9 a.m. Wednesday before Swindle for a review of her case, according to online records. Wamhoff was arrested and is being held in the Doniphan City Jail on a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
