Southeast Missourian readers will need to look for the Schnucks circular in the Wednesday issue starting this week.
Following the lead of other stores in the supermarket industry, Cape Girardeau's Schnucks supermarket will now start its weekly sales on Wednesdays instead of Sundays.
Store manager Dennis Marchi said most cities throughout the U.S. have always released their sale ads on Wednesdays and it has been successful in other Schnucks stores as well.
It has been a struggle to reset and restock displays for sale items on Saturday, he said.
Starting the ad week Wednesday will be better for customers, Marchi said, because it will allow the store more time to get more of the sale products out on its shelves.
"The other stores like it because they get more of the product out and the customers like it because they have more days to shop the ad," Marchi said.
Sale prices will be in effect through the entire weekend, with the sale week running from Wednesday through Tuesday.
Marchi said market research also supports the new ad schedule.
