Southeast Missouri State gymnastics coach Kristi Ewasko has completed her staff with the hiring of 2005 NCAA champion Michael Reavis as an assistant coach.

Reavis will coach Southeast's uneven bars competitors. He will also assist with administrative and other coaching duties during the year.

Reavis won a national championship on vault for Iowa. He also claimed two individual Big Ten Conference titles and was a first-team All-American four times.

The Hawkeyes qualified for the NCAA Championships in all four of his seasons, which included a trip to the NCAA team finals during his senior year.

"Michael joins our staff with experience as a collegiate gymnast and a desire to learn the coaching side of women's gymnastics," Ewasko said in a release. "Michael brings experience and knowledge to our bar team, which will help improve our consistency and scores from previous seasons."

Softball

Southeast softball coach Lana Richmond rounded out her staff by hiring former Redhawks player Stephanie Mata an an assistant coach.

Mata, who played for the Redhawks from 2004 through 2007, will work with hitters, outfield defense and be involved with recruiting.

Mata, after leaving Southeast, was head coach at Oakton (Ill.) Community College for two seasons. She also has been a graduate assistant at Southern Arkansas University.

"As a player, Stephanie's style of play was very competitive and she was very passionate about how she played the game," Richmond said in a release. "I am proud to have her back where it all began for her.

Basketball

Single-game tickets for Southeast men's basketball road matchups at Kansas Nov. 9 and Missouri Dec. 4 are on sale.

Upper level seats are available for both contests. Tickets are $25 for the Kansas game and $10 for the Missouri game.
