More than 15 historic organizations and 10 local authors are scheduled to take part in the Regional History Fair on Friday.

The fair will allow attendees to engage and learn the scope of the area's history, and feature information about the Civil War, downtown Cape Girardeau, Southeast Missouri State University and more.

The event is set for 2:30 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 N. Ellis St., Cape Girardeau.

The fair will follow a Flag Centennial Program scheduled for 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Oliver-Lemming House, 740 North St. Friday marks the 100th anniversary of the Missouri state flag, designed in Cape Girardeau by Marie Watkins Oliver. The original Missouri flag will be on display and the house will be available for tours and pictures.
