A transformer that was struck by a tractor-trailer Thursday morning near Logan's Restaurant is believed to have caused only a minor inconvenience inside the restaurant.

According to Battalion Chief Fred Vincel of the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, about 8 a.m., a tractor-trailer hit a ground-level transformer near the restaurant, 3012 William St. The collision caused the transformer to burst into flames. The restaurant sustained no physical damage from the fire, but Vincel said smoke possibly could have entered the establishment. No injuries were reported in connection to the fire.
