The new 5 1/2-by-8 1/2-inch voter ID cards are perforated to fold to wallet size and have the voter's polling location highlighted in yellow. The voter ID cards are a form of identification that may be used at the polling places to identify the voter and help districts ensure voters are casting their ballots in the correct location.

According to the news release, there will be about 48,000 cards mailed.

Registered voters in Cape Girardeau County who do not receive a new ID card by the third week in April should call the county clerk's office at 243-3547.
