Austin Bucher threw a no-hitter to lead the second-seeded Wildcats to a 6-1 victory over third-seeded Valley (Caledonia) in a semifinal of the Class 1 District 3 Tournament at South Iron High School in Annapolis, Missouri.
Bucher recorded six strikeouts and three walks and only gave up one unearned run while on the mound. He also hit a triple while at the plate.
Jerzy Currington took the loss on the mound. He pitched a complete game and allowed five earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts and three walks as Valley finished its season with a record of 5-13.
Leopold (7-10) will face top-seeded South Iron (12-9) today at 4 p.m. for the district title. The Panthers thumped fourth-seeded Bunker 10-2 in the other semifinal to advance.

Notre Dame's top seeds Ben Wedemeier, Mason Seesing and Brendan Boswell were victorious in the Class 1 Individual Sectional 1 on Tuesday at Windsor High School in Imperial, Missouri.
Wedemeier defeated Windsor's Jacob Walck 6-0, 6-1 in the singles while Seesing and Boswell beat Jacob Kronlage and Elijah Davis of St. Pius X (Festus) 6-1, 6-0 in the doubles.
With the wins, Wedemeier, Seesing and Boswell will advance to the Class 1 state tournament to be held May 30 and 31 in Springfield, Missouri.
Central's Alex Mailes booked his ticket to the state tournament with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Parkway West's William Tong at Tuesday's Class 2 Individual Sectional 1 at Lafayette High School in Wildwood, Missouri.
Central's Derek Nunnery fell short of joining his teammate at the state tournament after a 6-1, 6-1 loss to Parkway South's Arashi Cogan.
Mailes will compete at the Class 2 state tournament May 30 and 31 at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
