James Baker shared his experiences in being an extra on the set of 'Gone Girl' as part of a project with the Southeast Missourian and rustmedia. This is one of several stories to be published online.

__What role did you have in the movie's production?__

I was the construction and set medic coordinator. My job was to provide first aid to everyone at the construction sites and set. I also assisted the production manager with hiring and scheduling medics.

__What kind of communication did you have with "Gone Girl" staffers? What were they like?:__

I had the opportunity to talk to everyone on set and the construction sites. They all were like everyday ordinary people just doing their job. They didn't expect special treatment.

__Did anything about your interactions with crew or about the production surprise you? If so, what?:__ I was surprised to hear a lot of the crew talking about how great of a town we have.
