The Cape Girardeau Fire Department responded to an early fire Sunday morning at Plaza Hair Care in the Town Plaza. At 3:54 a.m., the fire department responded to a fire at the hair salon at 79 S. At 3:54 a.m., the fire department responded to a fire at the hair salon at 79 S. Plaza Way owned by Mike Jessup.

Crews from the Jackson and Scott City fire departments entered adjoining businesses to see whether the fire had spread, but reported it had not.

The business sustained heavy fire and smoke damage, with light smoke damage in the adjoining businesses. No injuries were reported.
