Two more Southeast Missouri State football players suffered torn ACLs in the Redhawks' win over Murray State on Saturday.

Sophomore wide receiver Adrian Davis and sophomore nose tackle Joshua Wilson each tore their right ACL. Both had started all five games for the Redhawks and have played too many games to be granted a medical redshirt.

Davis' injury also included damage to his meniscus, and surgery to repair it will be scheduled in the next few weeks.

Wilson will attempt to rehabilitate his knee and reevaluate it before choosing whether to have surgery before the end of the season.

Southeast football coach Tom Matukewicz said Wilson might try to play later this season and have offseason surgery instead.

Davis had 11 catches for 89 yards and one rush for 17 yards this season. Sophomore Tyler McLemore, who has 1 catch for 11 yards and 1 rush for five yards, has moved into his spot atop the depth chart.

Wilson recorded 10 tackles, including one for loss, and a 1/2 sack. Marlon Hampton, who has six tackles, moved into the starting spot.

Starting running back DeMichael Jackson and defensive end Travis Sanders each suffered torn ACLs earlier in the season and had surgery.

Both seniors will try to receive a medical redshirt and return next season.

Starting left tackle, sophomore Alex Snyder, injured his back on Saturday, and his status is day to day.

Quarterback Tay Bender, who injured his left, non-throwing arm against Shorter University two weeks ago, could miss the next 4-6 weeks.
