Your excellent article on what area state legislators are looking forward to achieving seemed proof positive that they're energized to enact just about anything but much needed ethics reform of Missouri's in the gutter state government.

Trigger unhappy

American people are so much safer with all the guns now in their hands. Authorities say a 4-year-old eastern Missouri boy has shot himself in the groin with his grandfather's handgun. Thanks, Republicans and the NRA.

Abuse hotline

The child abuse and neglect hotline has been called and it was determined that children can be raised in the most unfit environments imagined. As long as the investigator goes to the house, after the parent is warned, and the house looks relatively clean and there's some bologna and hot dogs in the fridge, any idiot can have children. Just clean up the drugs and throw all the bums out for five minutes and you're deemed fit. In another household, electricity gets turned off regularly, a known pedophile has stayed there, there is never anything but beer and vodka in the fridge. I really have no idea why we still have a child abuse/neglect hotline.
