Two drivers were taken to Saint Francis Medical Center after a head-on collision Wednesday morning on Highway 177.

A 2011 Toyota Tundra driven by Jamone Lipsey, 30, of Murphysboro, Illinois, crossed the center line and struck a 1993 Plymouth Voyager heading west on 177 driven by Gary Wilfong, 33, of Jackson, according to a traffic crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred just west of the Procter & Gamble plant outside of Cape Girardeau.

Wilfong suffered serious injuries, and Lipsey’s injuries were classified as minor. Wilfong was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
