Man shoots self in arm during fall down stairs

A Cape Girardeau man accidentally shot himself in the arm when he fell down stairs into his basement Friday in the 1800 block of Woodlawn Avenue.

Police reported the man was conscious before he was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital, according to public information officer Adam Glueck.

Police responded to the call at 3:08 p.m. Friday. Glueck said the man was at home by himself at the time.
