PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Helen M. Picou, 77, of Perryville died Thursday, March 8, 2001, in Perryville.

She was born July 4, 1923, at St. Marys, Mo., daughter of John and Ima Beare Cleary. She and Adrian Picou were married Nov. 4, 1941. He preceded her in death.

Picou attended Christ the Savior Catholic Church at Brewer, Mo.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Picou of Perryville, John and Mike Picou of St. Marys; six daughters, Jane Cairns and Cathy Randolph of Perryville, Patty Consentino of Arnold, Mo., Linda Picou of St. Louis, Carol Slinkard of Whitewater, Mo., Mary Steffens of Festus, Mo.; a brother, John Cleary of St. Marys; a sister, Mary Schwent of St. Marys; 26 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and four grandchildren.

Friends may call at Basler Funeral Home in St. Marys after 4 p.m. Sunday. A wake service will be held at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ the Savior Church. The Rev. Felipe Martinez will officiate. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery at St. Marys.
