Amos J. Harmon, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services of Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 3, 1916, at Oriole, Mo., son of William H. and Ada M. Noland Harmon. He and Erma E. Kassel were married Oct. 23, 1948, in Piggott, Ark.

Harmon was employed by Frisco Railroad Co. 30 years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Margie Stelling of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother, and a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mark Martin officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
