TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Funeral service for Sabina Doretta Haupt-Willer, age 104, of Tahlequah, were held Sunday, April 9, 2000, at the First Lutheran Church of Tahlequah, with Pastor Bruce Alberts and Pastor Bob Krahn officiating. Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Sabina Doretta Haupt-Willer, daughter of Henry C.A. and Sabina C. Haupt, was born Feb. 16, 1896, in Kurreville, Mo., and departed this life Thursday, April 6, 2000 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. A retired seamstress, Sabina moved to Tahlequah in 1970.
On January 20, 1915, Sabina married Paul Frederick Willer. Mr. Willer preceded her in death in 1954. Her parents, five brothers, six sister, an infant son, Joe, and a daughter, Velma Virginia Willer-Swan also preceded her in death.
Sabrina was a charter member of First Lutheran Church in Tahlequah and loved her church family. She regularly attended the morning Bible study group and belonged to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was also a member of the Daisy Garden Club, and belonged to a local afternoon study club.
She always stayed busy, sewing, crocheting, baking cakes and cookies for her grandchildren and spending much time tending her many house plants.
She is survived by one daughter, Pauline LaVerne Lander of Tahlequah; four grandchildren, Patricia Yeary of San Bernardino, Calif., Tom Lander, Ron Lander, Kathy Lander-Lawson and husband, Kenneth, all of San Bernardino, Calif.; ten great-grandchildren, Kristopher Yeary and Matthew Yeary, both of San Bernardino, Tyler Lander of San Diego, Corey Lawson of Ithaca, New York, Shawn Lander, Kari Lander, Seth Lander, Adam Lander, Cody Lawson and Casey Lawson, all of Tahlequah; one great-great grandchild, Tory Lander of Tahlequah; two foster grandchildren, Pamela Rousey-Walsh of Tulsa, Okla. and Pat Rousey-Wheeler and husband, Mike, of Broken Arrow, Okla; two foster great-grandchildren, Michael Wheeler and Jimmy Wheeler, both of Broken Arrow, Okla;, an a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation locally will be held at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel on Monday, April 10, 2000 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at 2 p.m. in Russell Heights Cemetery, Jackson, Mo.
Local services are under the direction of Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
