Ray E. "Reb" Timmerman, 81, of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at his home.

He was born July 17, 1919, in Atlanta, Ga., son of Roy S. and Gertrude E. Greenfield Timmerman. He and Dorothy Moulder Galemore were married Oct. 20, 1973, in Sikeston, Mo. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a first lieutenant and pilot and participated in the Berlin air lift and the Korean War.

He attended Georgia School of Technology in Atlanta. He was a field construction engineer for 30 years with Skelly and American Petrofina Oil companies. He retired in June 1982.

He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was also a Shriner and member of the Harold O. Grauel Masonic Lodge 672 in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of the Capaha Scottish Rite Club in Cape Girardeau and the Shrine Moolah Temple in St. Louis.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

Other survivors include two sons, Ray G. Timmerman and Roy D. Timmerman, both of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Rosealice Bilsland of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Eaton of Sikeston and Jamie Galemore of Crown Point, Ind.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. at the chapel.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Wes Wright officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Charleston, Mo.
