PAUL L. HALTERMAN SR.

ANNA, Ill. -- Paul L. Halterman Sr., 74, of Anna, died Tuesday, March 22, 1994, at Jonesboro Health Care Center.

He was born Dec. 23, 1919, in Anna, son of Jacob and Cora Ellen Biggs Halterman. He first married Mildred Sandlin in August 1940. She died in 1987. He later married Florene Palmer.

Halterman worked for Lewis Brothers Bakery 37 years. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul Halterman Jr. of Rincon, Ga., Tim Halterman of Ft. Worth, Texas; five daughters, Brenda Tucker and Kay Newman of Buncombe, Karon Marzec of Belleville, Andrea Barnhart of Jonesboro, Jane Sauerbrunn of Dongola; five stepsons, Charles, Harry, and Ricky Palmer of Anna, Dennis Palmer of Carbondale, Walter Palmer of Hinsdale; three stepdaughters, Joanne Schoenborn of Winfield, Linda Suppus of Chicago Heights, Nancy Obptande of Anna; four sisters, Elanora Fisher of Royalton, Aradella Griffith of New York, Annabelle Kimbro and Cula Milton of California; a brother, Jacob Halterman of Tennessee; 49 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
