DELTA -- Funeral service for Mildred Della Sparkman of Delta was held Saturday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Rev. Bob Bradford officiated, with burial in Brownwood Cemetery.

Sparkman, 80, died Friday, June 19, 1992, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 16, 1911, at Zalma, daughter of John and Mary C. Williams Speer. She and William Sparkman were married Aug. 1, 1927, at Bloomfield. He died Jan. 20, 1992.

Sparkman was a member of Arbor General Baptist Church, and Delta Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a son, John (J.L.) Sparkman of Chaffee; two daughters, Virginia Loucks of Chaffee, Nelda Kinder of Delta; a sister, Elmo Link of South Carolina; six grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
