BRIEFLY: ST. VINCENT PLAYERS HONORED

St. Vincent had five girls and five boys named to the Jefferson County Conference small division team recently.

For the Squaws, Jessica Lakenan was named league MVP and joined Sara Cissell on the first team.

Danielle Sutterer, Carrie Strattman and Casey Kirn were each given honorable mention. The girls team ended in a three-way tie for first place in the conference, the Squaws' first-ever piece of the title.

For the boys team, which won its fourth title in the last six years, Gabe Hotop was named first team, while Ryan Prost and Todd Meyer were voted second teamers. Justin Amschler and Corey Strattman were each given honorable mention.

Bruce Valleroy was named coach of the year on the boys side.
