American Red Cross has issued a blood supply alert to urge people to give blood immediately. Red Cross supplies of Type O blood are down 40 percent.

There will be a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Cape Naval Reserve Center, 2530 Marie Louise Lane. Another will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the Jackson Outreach Service of Southeast Missouri Hospital, 2106 E. Jackson Blvd. Donors can give from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1904 W. Cape Rock Drive. There will be another drive from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. A drive will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Holiday Inn Oak Room.
