Southeast Missouri State University alumni will have a "tidal wave" of fun at Six Flags Over Mid-America on June 29.

The university's alumni association is organizing the event. The amusement park's new ride is Tidal Wave, which plunges riders over a 50-foot waterfall into 300,000 gallons of water. Tidal Wave creates a wall of water 20 feet high and 80 feet wide, soaking not only passengers but spectators as well.

Jane Stacy, director of alumni services at Southeast, said the cost to alumni is $17 per person.

The price includes all-day admission to Six Flags; a buffet meal served at 11:30 a.m.; volleyball, horseshoes and a special visit by Bugs Bunny or one of his friends at the picnic site; and free parking.
